Unusual Frames

On occasion I like to repurpose something and use it as a frame for a painting. And this was the case when i found this very old shaving mirror at a flea market. The finish was horrible and it was very dusty which is why it was only valued at $5. But the wood was all sound and I could tell that it would come back to life pretty easily. I spent only an hour cleaning, clearing off the few scratches and waxing it. Believe it or not, this is around 180 years old!. I took out the old mirror and cut a panel the same size. because the wood is dark, I wanted to paint a light scene which meant a snow scene. The painting itself is about 8x10 inches and it is called "Sunlight and Shadow."
