As the sun crested on the distant mountain I stopped my car to get a shot from which to paint. I framed it with a few cactus there and added a moon. Originally, that moon was higher as the panel was then 16x20. As such, there was just too much black sky on the top half of the painting. So I cut off the upper six inches and painted a new moon below. This is a much better composition.
